Promote cooperation in the field of social enterprises

On 7th March 2016, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son – Rector of the VNU University of Business and Economics, had a meeting with Dr. Richard Hazenberg – the representative from the University of Northampton, UK.

Attending the meeting with Dr. Richard Hazenberg, there was Dr. Pham Vu Thang – Director of the Center for Economic Development Studies (CEDS). The meeting took place in an atmosphere of openness and friendliness, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son discussed with Dr. Richard Hazenberg and Dr. Pham Vu Thang about important collaborations between these two universities in the field of social enterprise.

Currently, the University of Northampton and CEDS are working at developing social impact measurement tools. This tool can help social enterprises in Vietnam and social organizations in Vietnam attract foreign social investments.

On behalf of the University of Northampton – the top University in the UK in the field of social-enterprise-related and social-impact-related research, Dr. Richard Hazenberg expressed his willingness to help and share experiences about social enterprise and social impact measurement to assist UEB in particular and VNU in general become the pioneer and the top University in Vietnam operating with a social enterprise scope.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son highly appreciated the ideas and plans of cooperation between the University of Northampton and CEDS. He also claimed to look forward to further cooperationwith the University of Northampton in this field.

Ending the meeting, Dr. Richard Hazenberg thanked Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son and Dr. Pham Vu Thang for the warm welcome of the UEB, as well as expressing his hope for a good relationship between the two universities in the future.
